Defaults

To help you speed data entry, MyClubV2 can be configured with default values in various places in the Program. This window allows you to enter those default values.

1Menu Bar

The only Menu Option here is Save as each item may be readily edited.

2New Membership Defaults

This comprises 3 dropdown menu boxes and a textbox enabling you to have a Default Country as well as Title, State and Membership Level.

These items are all used as the default values for when you add a new Member.

To edit or change the options available in each box, click here for Title, State or Membership Level.

3Backup Directory

Click on "Change Directory" and you will then be presented with the standard Windows Directory Picker that you are already familiar with. Chose the directory and then click on Save in the Directory Picker.

Whenever you click on Backup on the Main Menu - Tools, that is where your backup will be saved.

4Tooltips

When passing your mouse over a textbox or other tool, a ballon window will pop up giving you some general hints or instructions on what to do or how to complete the task at hand. This is in addition to the standard F1 key to bring up this Help File.

This is great when learning to use MyClubV2 but can become annoying once you become a "power user" - probably within a few days.

You can stop these Tooltips from showing by clicking on "No Display" here.

5Subs and Renewals

Annual subscription and renewal dates are configured here.

These details are used in several places in MyClubV2 and must be configured if Reports and Accounting are to function properly.

6Meetings

Most meetings are probably on a standard recurring basis and this is where you can record that Place and Time.

7Locking

Locking refers to the ability to change data that has already been presented to your members. Your members would normally have approved that expenditure or action and therfore should not be changed later.

Once you have completed your Treasurers Report and presented it to your members, you should not later change anything in that report even if it is wrong. You would normally advise your members at the next meeting of the error and make a suitable adjusting entry in the current Treasurers Report.

Also, it is not always obvious when changing one figure how that change may affect other transactions that have already been balanced and/or approved.

We strongly recommend that you leave the database "Locked". If you do wish to have the ability to go back and change transactions then you will need to toggle this option here. Before going back and changing any data, please make sure you have made a backup of the database in case there are any unforseen adverse results of your changes.

You should always leave the database in a "Locked" state and only unlock it whenever you are sure of what you are doing.
